Humidity is one of the important tasks in the daily management of enclosed chicken coops. Inadequate humidity in the house will reduce the group feeling temperature of chickens, which is not conducive to the spread of chickens and affects the drinking and feeding of chickens. If the humidity inside the house is too high, it will accelerate the reproduction of certain pathogenic microorganisms and parasites, which is conducive to the survival of the envelope free virus, leading to the occurrence and prevalence of corresponding diseases. High humidity inside the house can also hinder the normal thermal regulation of chickens, causing their body temperature to rise.
Humidity management in chicken coops is important, but it is easy to overlook. Below are several humidification methods for everyone to choose from.
Mist line humidification
Advantages: uniform, labor-saving, can disinfection and sterilization the chicken house.
Disadvantages: Regular maintenance and immersion cleaning of scale are required; It can only be used when the house is empty for disinfection and sterilization, changing seasons and the outside temperature is low; Due to the accumulation of hot air on the top of the chicken coop, water absorbs heat after use, resulting in a significant cooling rate in the coop; Improper use can easily cause cold stress to chickens. When the temperature is high during the day and the ventilation is high, the humidification effect is not significant.
Humidification time: In low ventilation conditions, it needs to be continuously turned on for more than 10 minutes to increase to the required humidity.
Usage: Suitable for summer use. When the external temperature is high and the air is dry, use a fog line when the temperature of the chicken coop is high. The water mist sprayed by the fog line absorbs the hot air at the top of the chicken coop. Due to the high ventilation volume in summer, the fan quickly removes the moisture that absorbs heat from the outside of the coop, resulting in a significant cooling effect. It should be noted that the fog line humidification method needs to be used intermittently.
Humidification tube humidification
Advantages: Using a humidifier tube for humidification, the material is cheap, the installation is convenient, time-saving and labor-saving, and the maintenance time is long.
Disadvantages: It can not be used when disinfection and sterilization and drinking medicine (from the pressure reducing valve), and it is easy to form puddles. Water in puddles evaporates slowly and absorbs heat from the air. The Apparent temperature of the chicken in the cage around the puddle is low, and chickens are easy to appear. The size of the chicken in the cage is uneven.
Humidification time: According to the width of the chicken coop and the different levels of water pressure, due to water pressure reasons, each side can be opened separately for 3-5 minutes to complete humidification.
Usage: It can be used in all seasons. Areas with puddles need to be spread out with a broom, which is beneficial for improving the humidity inside the building.
Installation: A separate water pipe can be used, and two rows of pipes can be installed under the middle row of cages in the chicken coop. Each row is equipped with a valve, and each side is opened separately for humidification. Otherwise, the pressure is low and the humidification distance is short. The pipe material should be 2.0PVC pipe or relatively thinner PVC pipe, fixed under the bottom cage with ties, and a small hole should be made on each PVC pipe.
Sprinkler humidification
Advantages: It can be humidified, disinfection and sterilization the ground, and maintain for a long time.
Disadvantages: When the outside is dry, the humidity rises slowly, and the humidity inside the house is low, which requires manual labor.
Humidification time: Due to the varying sizes of buckets on the sprinkler, it takes at least 30 minutes to add water and humidification each time.
Usage: Suitable for all seasons. When the external air is dry, the humidity at night is easy to maintain. During the day with high ventilation, the humidity inside the house is low, and manual humidification is frequent. The ground dries quickly, and the breeders are tired. Frequent humidification in the house also affects the feeding of chickens.

How to maintain the high usage rate of wet curtains during summer in large-scale layer farming?
Release time:
2023-06-13
Cooling down the chicken coop is a key task for many laying hens in summer. Wet curtain cooling is a commonly used method. In the process of using wet curtains for cooling, we often encounter sediment accumulation and microbial breeding due to inadequate cleaning and disinfection and sterilization of wet curtains, which will seriously affect the cooling effect.
